Planning for Success with Coach Chris

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I want to wish you all a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR, one that is full of every blessing that the Universe can bestow upon you, and all for your Highest Good.

I also recognize that the world is in turmoil, and some of you may be feeling helpless and overwhelmed by it all. Perhaps 2007 will be just as challenging as 2006 turned out to be...if we do nothing. But you know we CAN do something positive and concrete about changing the energy in the world.

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, an ancient Chinese philosophy dating back 3,000 years, advises that we can change the world by beginning with ourselves.
When you think about it, each time we change our own behavior, people around us have to respond differently. They (and we) can't keep doing the same dance because the rules have changed.

According to the I Ching behaviors that operate within a household shape its inhabitants; and what is learned in the home will transfer to the community, the state, and the world. So if you want to change the world, you have to begin with changing yourself.

Try extending this philosophy into your workplace as well. If you are unhappy with a situation there experiment with changing your behavior first, and see how your colleagues respond to you. I believe that you're going to be very pleasantly surprised. Let me know what happens.

"When the house is set in order, the world is established in a firm course." The I Ching

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

When Michelangelo was asked how he carved the statue of David, he said:

“ I simply cut away everything that was not David."

At this time of year, many of us are thinking about making New Year's Resolutions to change things that haven't been working for us for in a long while. Have you made a list of the ways in which you’d like to change your behavior and the choices you make each day?

Make a commitment to the “New You” and the world will quickly start feeling quite different. You might need some help in staying motivated to manifest your dreams, so recruit a Success Team – a group of friends, family, or colleagues who can help you stay focused and accountable; and who will cheer you on towards your goal.

Work on an Action Plan - a road map for this new journey that you are about to take. Include a Timeline so that you know how long each part of the Plan will take to manifest; and when you will eventually reach your goal. Celebrate each successive step by giving yourself little rewards along the way. It will make the journey so much more fun, and will definitely keep you motivated!

The New Year: Your Time in 2007

The month of December rapidly escaped into the hands to Father Time, as though each moment had more important things to do. I’m a person who lives wholeheartedly in the present but to no avail, the sands of the hourglass are cascading in full furies.

Time bears all, time heals all and time tells all. In life and in all things, all you have to do is give it time. All in good time, all on its own time and just in the nick of time. Those are clichés, you might say. But all good clichés reveal what we believe to be mostly true.

What else is time? What value does 24 hours have to you? Better yet, how do you value your time? What are you planning with your time in 2007?

Time is like money (time is not money, let us not insult time) in that time is a resource. But unlike money, we don’t earn time. Time is allotted to us in a series of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, decades and on. Time for all purposes is free. However, we can’t “make” more time, we can’t win time or borrow time; once our time is spent, once that second has passed, it’s gone forever.

Most people wouldn’t dream of wasting money, but what about wasting time? What’s a waste of time? Have you been wasting your time?

Time impacts our mind, body and souls. Each second, that can never again be regained, is part of the bigger time slots in which we develop, grow and mature. How we decide to spend our time dictates what will become of our mind, body and soul.

Time is directly connected to who you are and will be. The journey of our lives is a story of what we do with our time. How we use and make due of our time maps out how our time will be used in the future. What you do or don’t do today, matters tomorrow.

You can’t escape time and time will end. Time is precious and in the final hours it is said that the requests are not for more money, more cars, and more houses but rather for more time.

What are you planning with your time in 2007? What matters to you? What do you want to be? What do you want to accomplish? Who do you want to spend your time with? Where is your time going?

Take the time to think about this today, because all you have today is today.

If you've never considered Coaching, then know this; our Coaches fully understand the importance and caliber of time...we, as Coaches work to maximize YOUR time!!
